Welcome to Week 10, Term 3, 2011. It's only 1 week until the holidays, yay.  It has been a busy term for the library, students are really enjoying the books that are being reviewed.

Remember the literary quotes, thats a new thing we did this term, here is an example,

Welcome to week 3 term 3 2011 in the Library not much going on this week just book book books.

We still have our word of the week from last week ''Shirty", do you know what the meaning of that is.

There is still those top 25 library websites, check it out! There might be some cool books.

Not much use of the Library in the first two days because of the very cold snow!

 

Author Studies

During term 2 a group of children worked with Mrs Kerr in Options One.  They selected an author and studied him or her and their writing.  They then presented their work as movies.  Here are some of their work:

Welcome to week 2 of term 3 in 2011. There are not many changes this week, we have  a new word in word of the week, and our new word is 'shirty', do you know what that means?

Welcome back to the school library term 3.

Our teacher is Mrs MacIntosh and this term she is teaching us Literary quotes.  An example already this term is from (the book) 'Harry Potter the Chamber of Secrets' P. 333 when Dumbledore says ''It is our choices Harry, that shows what we truly are far more than our abilities''

 

Chess

Chess Club

is now on in the Library after school each Tuesday afternoon.  Last week (week one) was our first session with 12 students turning up keen to compete with each other.  Next week out top 8 students from the Havelock North Exchange are  competing in the Take Note Wairarapa Chess Tournament at Carterton Primary.  Then on Tuesday the 17th August Ben, Raven and Jacob are travelling to Pahiatua for that competition!!!
