My family and I moved to New Zealand from South Africa 15 years ago. We lived in Upper Hutt for 2 years but fell in love with the Wairarapa and spent a lot of weekends here. With the weather being very similar to where we lived in South Africa, the Wairarapa was calling us to make it home. We wanted a lifestyle living environment for our two boys, now 26 and 24. We still live on a lifestyle block with Scottish Highland Cows and our new puppy Inja (meaning “dog” in the African language called Zulu) We love to call New Zealand home and are proud New Zealanders.
My journey at MIS started at the end of 2020 as teacher learning assistant. I love being in this environment with a heart to help kids who are struggling in any form. I’m so happy to be back for 2021 and look forward to seeing positive changes in our children’s lives.
I will be a Nanna this year which is beyond exciting. My interests are arts, crafts, scrapbooking, attempted knitting, travelling. I am waiting in anticipation for the world to open up again, hoping to go on a Mediteranian Cruise in the near future. The cruise ship bug has bitten and I can’t wait for our next adventure.
