Born and raised in Canada, I graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education in 2010. I moved to New Zealand permanently in 2013 after meeting my kiwi husband at a summer camp we both worked at. I taught at Rathkeale College for a few years before deciding to become a stay-at-home-mother after the birth of my first child. I now have three beautiful, healthy children who I have the privilege of raising: Ella (5), Brooks (3), and Finnley (1).
My passions outside of school involve ice hockey (I played competitive ice hockey from my toddler years to varsity years - but with the lack of ice rinks here in NZ, I am doing more watching than playing nowadays), photography, and exploring the great outdoors (with New Zealand beaches being my favourite! I love taking my young family to the ocean).
I am happy to be back to my first love - teaching - for three days a week - and what better school to come to! From the staff and students to the extra-curricular activities, this is sure to be a fantastic year! Thanks for the warm welcome MIS team!
