MIS welcomes students from all over the Wairarapa for their Year 7 & Year 8 school years.
Currently we have students coming each day from as far as Martinborough, Featherston in the south and Eketahuna to the north. Pop in to the team at Tranzit Coachlines to discuss bus routes and concession cards.
Many of our local students walk, bike or scooter to school each day. We have bike sheds for safe storage of all bikes and scooters. We STRONGLY recommend that you also use your own lock.
- Hosting other groups for Kapa Haka wananga is great. It makes strong connections across the Wairarapa, we get to make new friends, we get to learn new items and we get to put our pōwhiri skills to real use. – Lēla Pitau, Aja Walker, Ashton Thompson, Hana Pakai
- My first week at MIS has been great. I have made new friends. It’s easy when there are so many kids my age. Plus there’s always something exciting going on here. Lunchtimes and lessons are full of activities! – Bruce Bargh – Year 8 – Room 12
- What a whirlwind two weeks! Hockey trials, Mountain biking, Agri-kids practice, Volleyball trials, Non-stop cricket were all awesome. Agri-kids was really interesting because we dissected a ram, learnt about all of the body systems and different cuts of meat. James Crawley – Year 8 – Room 7
- Being part of the powhiri on Tuesday was awesome. It was great to welcome teachers from all around Masterton so they could spend the day together learning. The Kapa Haka group welcomed them all really powerfully. It was nice to see Mrs Connor from my old school! Melanie Leach – Year 7 – Room 7
